Introducing My AI Video Avatar: Meet Chris GeePT

About a year ago, I began experimenting with AI to clone my voice for editing podcasts. Today, I'm excited to share my latest experiment with AI technology.

I've created a video avatar of myself using a tool called â€‹HeyGen.

This new digital twin speaks in my voice and can replicate my facial expressions and gestures.

Now, this version sounds a bit robotic, but it was the first time I trained it. You can train your AI avatar as often as you want, and if you're more expressive and emotive, the avatar will sound more natural.

You can even add emotional gestures to the script, causing the avatar to smile or arch an eyebrow while speaking.

But what about deepfakes?

Of course, this technology raises the potential risks associated with deepfakes. To address these concerns, HeyGen ensures all avatars are created with your explicit consent and verification via video. This step is crucial for preventing anyone from creating an avatar without your permission.

This technology opens up new possibilities for us in communications. It could streamline how we produce and edit video content, allowing for adjustments and updates without the need for costly and time-consuming reshoots.

I'll continue to explore and refine this technology, and I promise to keep you updated with any new insights.
